I like how it took the Navy three Gemini missions to realize, “Hey, there are two astronauts who need to talk to the President, so maybe we should get them two phones.”
The one of Gemini 3 gives me the lolz. John looks like he’s about to pounce on Gus for that phone. “Gus. Ah am waiting for mah turn. Stop bogarting the phone.”
Meanwhile, Jim and Ed were probably snuggling kittens while they were talking. “Yes! We are besties! We love cats, ice cream, apple pie and the Air Force! Woot!”
Then Pete Conrad came along and everybody realized he would probably say some crazy things on the phone, so they had to have two phones. “HAHAHAHA OH MY GOD. JANE, THOSE WERE EIGHT CRAZY DAYS. I HAVE TO TAKE A HELL OF A DUMP. WHAT? WHY IS EVERYONE LOOKING AT ME? I HAVE TO CRAP, SO WHAT”
Pete is also disappointed he doesn’t have a hat.
